About OAC
What we do and why it is important
Outdoor Against Cancer (OAC) is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the fight against cancer and other non-communicable disease (NCDs) on a global scale. 40% of all cancers could be prevented by a healthier lifestyle. Regular exercise and outdoor sports, a balanced diet, intact nature and sustainability, and mental and physical well-being are the four key pillars of OAC's mission. To spread this message, OAC is active in numerous countries. Key activities are the qualification of certified trainers, the OAC Health App, as well as numerous projects with partners in the EU and internationally.

Faced with the diagnosis of breast cancer in 2019 I felt totally powerless and at the mercy of fate. Yet, it´s not true that, apart from undergoing heavy medical treatment, we can do nothing for our health. All studies agree that against cancer and debilitation such as fatigue syndrome due to therapy, sport has a winning power.
Yes ... easy to say, much more difficult to do, when chemotherapy takes away the strength and even the tasks of daily life overwhelm us. Then I met Petra at an information day in the hospital and I was surrounded by a wave of sharing, sincere optimism and motivation. Today I train regularly with her and with fantastic people, who like Petra and me are fighting cancer with sport, the only powerful means without unwanted side effects. Thank you OAC!
